| 'Kiwi' bach in the Abel Tasman |
Your adventure begins at beautiful, tidal Marahau where you and your guide begin the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. You will walk for just under two hours through lush native bush bordered by pristine golden beaches. The track then winds down to our authentic 'kiwi' bach built early last century. Here you will learn about this historic getaway while you and your fellow explorers relax and have a leisurely lunch followed by a swim or beach stroll.
Early afternoon you and your guide are uplifted by a water taxi. You then cruise north along the Abel Tasman coastline past deserted beaches and secluded bays - hopefully seeing some playful seals or penguins on the way. You disembark for a short time at Onetahuti Beach, before travelling by water taxi out of the Abel Tasman to Kaiteriteri, arriving mid to late afternoon.
(Note: Please enquire for shorter walk option, and personal guided walks)

Arrive at your accommodation, Riwaka Retreat, and relax on the deck or go for an evening stroll around the nearby estuary. Following a scrumptious breakfast the next day you will be driven to Marahau where you and your guide will begin our Kiwi Bach to Anchorage guided walk in the Abel Tasman. After approximately two hours walk through lush native bush you will come to our delightful historic 'kiwi' bach. Following a delicious picnic lunch and time to relax you will continue walking north to Anchorage.
Late afternoon you will be returned to Riwaka Retreat (30 mins by boat), enjoying the Abel Tasman coastline on the way - look out for penguins and sea birds. That evening you can take the opportunity to sample some of the excellent eating houses in Motueka, Kaiteriteri or on the coast. Alternatively you may wish to 'stay in', light up your Barbie(BBQ) and cook your own meal.
The following day you and your guide leave from Kaiteriteri and travel by boat back into the Abel Tasman. You continue walking north exploring to either Bark Bay or Onetahuti. At the end of the day you are returned to Riwaka Retreat for your last night as our guest.
Second Day Option: Do you only want one day of hiking? After one day on the land of the Abel Tasman, make day two on the sea. Join a catamaran cruising the Abel Tasman coast. Delicious platter style lunch supplied. Maximum of 10 clients.
